Today, the former Asian champions were knocked out of the Maybank Malaysia Open in straight games by China’s Chai Biao-Hong Wei, who dismantled the Malaysians 21-17, 21-14 in 36 minutes.
The chorus of boos around Putra Stadium summed it up pretty nicely and after their loss Kien Keat said: “I can’t explain why we lost. There are no excuses.
“I don’t know what to say. I have no excuses for losing. We have to think about our next move.”
Asked if this was finally the end of a partnership, which once shone so brightly, Kien Keat kept mum.
Boon Heong, too, didn’t want to comment much and repeated Kien Keat’s views.
